Suzuka Twin, we had the track to ourselves:
My car ran great all day. New alignment meant less rear camber and some adjusting on my part. But the added traction soon felt awesome and was allowing me to use the Kuroi (RIP) knuckles to their fullest. I was getting angle into the 1st turn that I’ve never drifted at (but hey I used to drive a Miata…). And as you can see I have the 9.5J +28 TE37 with 235/45 Kenda KR20 out in back. I still need to snag some fronts and then I can lower the damn thing down and make it look a tad bit more rad. Driving this thing is so fun, although the 15 was killer to look at, driving it doesn’t even come close to thing thing. I think I made a good decision.
For the 1st time in over a year Masa and I got on track together…but sadly his day ended early when his throttle pulley snapped in half (something I’ve never seen). Next time. Video up soon as well!

any particular reason besides lhd that the s13 is more fun?

mostly the lhd, just more comfortable
but also the car feels quicker because of the shorter final gear. Oem S15 is 3.9 an the 180 has 4.3
I think the 15 was faster but the final makes all the diff in the world. The 180 is also not as stiff, but this makes throwing the car around more fun. The gas tank is also at the rear unlike the 14/15 that have it just in front of the rear suspension. So the rear of the car feels like it rotates faster.

Also what coilovers you running? And diff? And the basic setup for your motor? I think it might be asking for a little too much, but I love your 240. Keep us posted! Kick ass blog too.

Hey,
gotta question – what’s your opinion about the KENDA tyres?
are they any good, or it’s just for killing them in the track?
March 16th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
I like em. I drove them back to back with the same size federal and didn’t notice any huge diff. The Kenda are a bit cheaper so I stuck with those. They wear nice and slow, offer enough grip for me, and I have yet to get chunking.

so, generally, it’s quite ok for daily use as the “economy” tire?
I have horribly limited budget and looking for the best price/quality, where price is very important

[...] 86, Events, Friends, Japan Some footage that I should have gotten up long ago after we went to the track. Better late than never though. It was a fun day, with just our group on track all day. [...]
